California's strong pay transparency law applies when:

  • the employer has 15 employees or more;
  • the employer has 1 employee or more in California;
  • the role can be hired in California (including remote);

The employer must disclose:

  • the pay range

Disclosure must happen:

  • in the job posting
  • on request from a current employee
